I have 17 raised garden beds made out of wood that was cut on our mill. Every year I try and do some organic soil improvements so I don't need to rely on chemicals. There are blueberries, strawberries, grapes (just put them in) and a herb garden beside the regular vegetable garden. On the west coast you can grow a lot of things year round without the use of a cold frame, which I take advantage of.
I have become a passionate photographer of birds. There is nothing I like better than to spend hours patiently waiting for just the right moment. As I spend time with the birds, I get to see how they fly, their stance and calls and there is nothing more rewarding that to see a bird flying and be able to say that's a _____.
Actually, I photograph anything that catches my fancy but in looking back though my pictures they are mainly of nature and there are very few of people.
When I'm musing, it's like thinking out loud. Thoughts just come to me and I make a couple of notes and let them ruminate for a while. When I sit down to write, the words just appear on the page as if by magic. This is what I call my inner knowing which knows more than I think I know.
Anything Else That Takes My Fancy:
You might find stories, recipes, ways to preserve food, holidays, what goes on in the backyard, a new toy or a song I heard. Absolutely anything goes.
I promise you I won't be dull and if I get to high and mighty, feel free to take me down a notch or two.
If you want to know more about me, I encourage you to read the "About Me" page before you go any further.
