I saw this photo today and it immediately brought to mind the song “On The Road Again”.
After having been at home for a few weeks and having heard today that if we all just stayed home for 2 weeks that we would all but stop the spread of Corvid-19.
It just made me want to get out and about.
It’s the contrarian in me.
But for now… it’s a virtual reality world.
So, I’m going to imagine this road trip.
Heading through the outskirts of the Rocky Mountains eager to see the tall peaks covered in year-round snow.
I can feel the heartbeat of the earth as I travel in the valleys between the mountains and connect with the sky in the wide-open places.
The scene as I head into the “between spaces” is awe-inspiring and there is no place like it on earth.
I hold my breath in wonder and breathe out a sigh as I watch the shadows lengthen along the ridges.
Colours like a marbled countertop and the slate gray of tile proclaim their origin as the landscape flashes by.
Slowing the car to take in the majesty of my surroundings I exhale with a huge sigh of reverence for these soaring pinnacles.
These are remembered times.
Feeling times.
Awareness times.
Recall them.
Enjoy them.
Have fun with them.
On the road again
Goin’ places that I’ve never been
Seein’ things that I may never see again
And I can’t wait to get on the road again
