I want to know if you had dragons for lunch
Serving ketchup and jam
Or cheese and fruit punch
Were they scaly and large
Did they have a jewelled tummy
Were they bold, bright and fearsome
Or shiny and cuddly
I want to know if you had dragons for lunch
Did they sit on the table?
Did they crunch, crunch, crunch, crunch
How big were their eyes
And how long was their tail
Tell me, please tell me
Let me know without fail
I want to know if you had dragons for lunch
Did you eat in the garden?
Have tea or do brunch
How long did they stay?
Did you have lots of fun?
Did they arrive as a group
Or come one by one?
I want to know if you had dragons for lunch
I wish to know more
And I just had a hunch
That maybe, just maybe
They were boiled, baked or steamed
Put on a platter
And served with baked beans
I want to know if you had dragons for lunch
Did you save some for me?
Cause it’s time to go munch
Loved the poem for Caleb! I look forward to your blogs everyday and feel more connected to you since we don’t get to see you very often.💕
What a wonderful, colourful, fun-filled poem.
Thank you so much. With your permission, I shall cut and paste it into a scrapbook for my little ones.
