Living Earth
A walk in the forest is like restoring your balance in the world.
The trees and plants require nothing from you and give back so much.
The air that you breathe.
Solitude
Healing
Contemplation
A feeling that all is right in the world.
Touching an ancient tree that is hundreds of years old you see the world from a different perspective.
You can almost travel back through time to when it was a seedling and what was happening in the world.
300 years ago when some of these ancient trees first put their roots down into the earth, the United States wasn’t even a country yet.
Yet year after year they slowly grow.
Embracing the sun and the rain as their roots grow even deeper into the soil.
Providing shade and shelter to all that seek it
And I seek it.
I feel whole and complete in the deep, silent woods.
They call to me.
They speak to me.
They are my muse.
Trees ask for nothing.
Old as time, surviving by embracing the wind, rain, sun and a little soil they are the living earth.
